The Morgan County Fire Board of Directors consists of four fire service personnel selected from each of the four volunteer fire departments (Berkeley Springs, Great Cacapon, Paw Paw and South Morgan) in the county. State code only allows for three representatives to have voting rights so one department representative is an ex-officio member for one year per a rotating schedule. Three citizen members from different voting districts are appointed by the County Commission and one Morgan County Commissioner is on the board. Each Citizen or Fire Service representative is appointed for a three year term not to exceed two consecutive terms, is approved by the Morgan County Commission and sworn in by the Morgan County Clerk.
